Austin jumped off of his horse and approached Tinaldor "My lord Tinaldor, if the oath of brothership you swore to me (and i to you) means anything to you, i beg of you to listen to me now... there is an old saying 'he who goes seeking revenge first must dig two graves' - this revenge of yours is consuming you my brother, you have to let it go, if you were attacking those who killed your children, i would be at your side right now but you aren't - the killers of your children died at the blade of Lady Aroura - if you do find out who ordered their deaths and attack them specifically, i will support you but i cannot support the wholesale slaughter of an entire race just because a small group decided to attack you. brother or not, all the time you allow this hatred to control you, I will stand against you, I will resist this genocide to my last breath"

Tinaldor placed his hand on his new found brothers shoulder in a typical elven embrace. "Be at peace brother. There is more to this then perhaps you understand. But, like I told BP, if you chose to take the field against me, then I will be forced to withdraw, because I will not fight you. And tell your lover, that I do not wish her death. She is a friend, despite, and of my kin. I am going to order a meeting of rulers in my encampment. I would be glad if you would join me there, as well as Ara. There all fears will be put at rest."

Ara appeared at Austin's side her voice softer than usual as she looked at Tinaldor and knelt:"I am sorry for the words I said to you my lord.I was angry and hurting.and still am to a point but not as much as I was.I am sorry for what I said.you have every right not to speak to me and also to kill me if you wish Tinaldor."she still knelt but her face was raised to Tinaldor's and her eyes were on his, hers filled with emotions and tears.

"Bp."Ara said tiredly."he will not kill me.if he wanted to he would have already.I know Tinaldor well enough to know that.be at peace my friend.I think I am safe for now."she remained kneeling but the emotions she had just changed over from and so many rapid changes of mood left her drained of energy and strength.she looked at Bp and stood her eyes a soft gray made slightly dull by being so tired.

"You think you know him so well? I know the part of him that none of you wish to see! And that is the part that is ruthless at ANY cost."

"If I kill you Ara Dunami, you will be facing me, and you will have a sword in your hands. As will any ruler that decides to face me. but understand that ANY who stand in my way, shall neither have my mercy or pity. Any who attack me shall fail, as has been proven." Tinaldor took Bp aside, and looked her in the eyes. "If you know me as well as I know you do, then be calm, and trust me beautifull one."

Ara opened her eyes and looked Tinaldor in the eye her shoulders straightening at the rebuke in his voice and her eyes going a steel gray."aye Tinaldor.but you know for a fact that I would not attack you without reason's to.and I do not have a reason,therefore.."she left it at that.

A long time later It had been too long. The mist that seemed to hang around the long flowing trees, the spray of dew that layered the delicate flowers, the touch of the soft grass on his coarse feet. The touch of it all, he had missed that. There were not many living things that brought joy to the dark-elf. Usually the taking of life, and the maiming of it brought him his ecstacy. But the trees, the forest, the flowers.... something in him respected that, and something in it brought him joy. Mystically, these gardens never seemed to grow coarse, and uncontrollable. The rambling willows, the tall oaks... they never took over. They remained something of beauty, a tale perhaps of the hands that lovingly created them.
It had been a long time since he had walked these gardens in peace. For once worry did not tread on his doorstep, for once all was calm in his mind. This suprsised him, perhaps the magic of the garden itself had grown beyond even him.... Or perhaps it was just good to relax... to be unhindered. Strolling his way down towards the river bank, his feet deftly carressed by the springy grass, he let the sound of the babbling stream touch his soul. It soothed him deep inside. Stooping down, and laying back, he rested his head in his hands, and closed his eyes, concentrating only on the sounds of the life around him. He cleared his mind even more, no more ruminating... just utter tranquility. Peace... for now... but one thought remained: How long would it be before even this peace was broken. War had come. War was his business. He thrived, was in his element. All seemed to look to him for answers, for inspiration. Could he honestly give them this? Shaking his head, to rid himself of all thoughts, he cleared his mind again, and slowly started to drift off in to sullen slumber.

A few days later...
The Dawneater was wandering in the famed gardens late at night, hoping to find there his Lord Austin. The innkeeper of The 'Mist' had directed him to this spot.
