Tinaldor was sat alone, his mind wandering over a book of lore, studying myths on other demons, perhaps he could find a clues as for the next move... His scouts had reported that his friend Lord Azrael was on his way to Mordor, so he had ordered his elves to direct him to this room. As well as this, Targhul also was to be directed here. Perhaps he could contribute too... Silently he waited for them to arrive, his mind roving over possiblities and neccesities.

The dark elf led Azrael into the study. Azrael stood before Tinaldor, and bowed to him.

Tinaldor stood, and bowing his head to Azrael, he turned, and motioned to the Guards to leave, who bowed low, and walked from the room. Tinaldor sat back down in his chair again, and looked up at Azrael from where he was sat.
"My scouts reported that you were headed here, and in much of a hurry too. I must say I am glad to see you alive... hopefully my lieutenant was of aid to you. Come, tell me of the battle in Gondor, and where it leaves us.. Have you learnt anything new?"

"Things haven't gone so well," Azrael reported.
"You lieutenant was ambushed, but saved us from the majority of the force. I lost the last of my Generals, whom I consider great friends, and The army of Gondor is all but spent. I'm afraid there is nothing more Gondor can do in this war, but I myself will try the best I can to help with the struggle."
Azrael rubbed his beard.
"We have learned something about the demons though... A weakness!"

Ambushed? Hmm that was a mistake that perhaps cost Gondor a lot of men. He could not allow that kind of mistake in his army. He would deal with Shagrin when he returned. It was a shame to lose such a fine lieutenant... as much it was a shame for Azrael to lose his. "I am indeed sorry to hear this. Gondors armies are a fine thing indeed, are you sure areas such as ithilien do not have men in hiding, or the port of Dol Amroth, is her knights all spent? A sad day it will be indeed if that is so. It was her knights that crashed through the armies of Mordor, the last time she was besieged...." Tinaldor sat in deep thought. Could they really afford to have lost such a great force? "But back to the point... is there no armies you can raise from all Gondors wide realm? As powerful a warrior and general you indeed are, you need men behind you. We are fast running out of options here...." His ears pricked up, as Azrael mentioned a weakness. Now this could be intriguing... "A weakness you say? What magic is this, that could have shown itself on the plains of Pelennor outside your high walled city?"

Azrael thought for a while.
"While it is possible to create a small army of what's left of Gondor's people, I refuse to let them fight any longer. I maybe a man of war, but my people are not. They've seen enough of the bloodshed," Azrael replied.
"Their weakness... As we discovered during the downpour... Is water. Quiet amusing actually. The demon lord himself can only be harmed by water. His bones are unbreakable and unshatterable, and his flesh gorws back faster than it is cut. He's planning on attacking you himself, my Lord."

Tinaldor grimaced at the Human Lord's words. "As much as I'm sure your people are war weary, this is not some trivial war that will leave your people be! this will encompass us all! we fight for the future of our world... But nevertheless i can ask nothing of you..." Tinaldor was suprised at his words. "Nevertheless we can not rely on the weather, for it is as unpredictable as our fate..."

Azrael nodded.
"This is true, but at least we know how things are. We currently have no idea when or where the demon army will attack next, but he gave me the impression he'd be going after you yourself. He wants to test his strength you see... He's a bit weird if you ask me."
Azrael stopped rubbing his chin.
"Use me how you will my lord, and I will see your wishes done."

Tinaldor thought long upon this. Was this just an assumption, or would the demon lord really wish to test him? It certainly would make sense... and Mordor had been in both battles, weakend by both. This would indeed make sense. " I think then I know where he will strike next. I deem that he will dare to strike fear in the very heart of Middle Earth. He will strike at the Black Gate. He knows that if Mordor falls, then much strength will be gone, and fear will be rife...." But still doubt crept into his mind. What if all the armies were to summon to Mordor, and then Nan Elmoth be attacked? He hated this not knowing... "But what if he does not... ahhh Azrael I hate not knowing... Is there no way we can know where...?"

"Right now, the only thing we can do is play the waiting game. The demon lord kinldy gave away where he was going to attack before. I agree with your assumption of attacking the black gate, so for now I suggest you should move some fopces there. Keep the rest ready to reinforce anywhere else that may be attacked instead."
Azrael put his head in his hands.
"It's not a good feeling not knowing anything, is it?"

Austin appeared out of the shadows, he had used his stealth abilities to make his way unseen to this very chamber, he knew that this conversation concerned his kingdom too and there was no way he was going to stand back "That is a wise tactical suggestion Azrael, but an idea has come to me, though it needs a question answered first; do we know where the demons are based?"

Azrael turned to Austin.
"No. They just seem to appear where they want to be. And their lord can literally appear where he wants to be."

"Interesting... so we're facing an enemy that can just appear and dissapear whenever they want" he considered for a few seconds "I suggest fortifying the cities and then having mounted battalions to support any attacked city - they could cover the ground easier and give us some kind of element of surprise... though we'd need to find somewhere to hide them, i'm guessing our enemy can see more of the board than we can"

"It'll cost a lot of resources... Gondor still has plenty if anyone needs shipment. Just one thing to make clear, cos Austin just confused me a bit... The demon army itself can't appear and reappear, they just have a habit of ending up in unexpected places. Only the demon lord can appear wherever. He also has the power of telepathy... Warning for the future... Telepathy hurts." Azrael chuckled.

"No. They just seem to appear where they want to be. And their lord can literally appear where he wants to be." ((I'm only basing my idea on what you said)) Austin nodded, still trying to consider some place they could hide a large cavalry unit
