Aeri looked over the large army camp and breathed in the fresh air of the morning. Her elves were waking up for another day of training, and for the first time in a while, she had decided to join them. A sergeant stood next to her, hands behind his back, watching the many soldiers. "They are fit and ready for a battle, my lady. They haven't seen death in a while, they have forgotton why they're here." Aeri looked at the tall elf beside her, then back at the soldiers training. "Don't worry my friend, they will see something soon." A large evil grin filled her face, and as the elves moved into formation, Aeri and the sergeant moved in towards them to accompany them for the day.

Tinaldor wandered in, looking at the elves train. "These are well trained elves... I wish they could be fighting alongside me... but I deem your husband would not let you."

"Since when do husbands rule over ALL we do?" *BP said with a scowl as she entered the scene* "Aeri can make her decision on her own.... her husband does not own her thoughts."

"Not all women command as much authority you my dear. Perhaps Aeri is one of them. I would very much like to have you by my side my old friend. But if you do not wish it so, then fair is fair."

Telarath rode up confidently upon his trusty steed Turvol. Whilst he was not sure of his standing in the Army, he would definately like to see the status of his troops. They were his, after all he was the Lord of Rivedell. Whence he had came up next to the Lady Aeri, Telarath quickly dismounted from his horse and walked up to her. "My lady, I take it that all is in order with the troops?"

Tinaldor smiled slightly to himself, Telerath seemed unsure of his authority. Whether he knew it or not, this Elf did have a commanding presence about him, he seemed to be someone who knew himself well. Tinaldor also knew the Rivendell troops reasonably well. Give or take a month, they would follow Telerath no questions asked with zest. He stood back, deciding to be a spectator for a while. He was interested to see what might take place.

Telarath slowly and confidently made his way to stand right before his troops. He then cleared his throat and began to speak. "Elves of Imladris! I have new of a growing menace that wills to take peace from Arda once again. It is our duty, such as it has been always before, to stand next to the other peoples of Middle-earth and fight. Let us rally and prepare for war!!" Telarath said as he quickly drew his sword from it's sheath. It had seen many lives of men, as he had brought it all the way from Lindon with him.

The soldiers stood still, waiting for their commands. "Elves!" They straightened and banged one foot against the ground. "As Telerath has stated, there is an enemy threatening our peace. We, as soldiers, are born to fight, born to keep peace, to destroy evil such as this. You must understand the danger that comes with this. There is no doubt there will be deaths. There is no doubt there will be injuries. You must understand you may lose leaders. Are you ready to train? To prepare for this grave challenge?" There was a silence for a moment before one elf, stood three rows behind the rest shouted, "I AM READY!" A grin filled Aeri's face. "What is your name, elf?" He stepped forward and shouted, "Beren Arcamenel, my lady." She moved closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Beren, will your fellow elves accept? Ask them." He nodded before shouting, "MY FELLOW ELVES. WILL YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE?" A chorus of elf words filled the air. "I ACCEPT." Aeri slapped Beren's back before walking over to Telerath. "I expect you to keep all in order. I have some unfinished business to attend to." With that, she whistled for her steed.

Telarath watched as the Lady of the Hidden Valley stepped forth and began to speak. He smiled as he watched her exude confidence. After all, these were her people more than his. He had only recently come to Imladris. When she spoke to him, Telarath smiled warmly at her. "M'lady, I will uphold all that you have established. I will lead these troops into battle, such as I have with many ones before." Telarath said as he bowed graciously. He then stepped forth and began to speak to the troops once again. " My fellow kinsman, take heed all that the Lady has said. However, do not fear death. If we die, we shall finally be home!"

As the sound of hooves approached, Aerianeth smiled. Telerath has what it takes, she thought to herself. She was impressed, and that doesn't happen to often with such a new ruler as this. Galdor approached her, his shiny black mane blowing in the gentle breeze. She mounted him and scanned the training grounds. What a sight, she thought to herself. All that she had built, all that she had trained were here, and they were stronger than she ever could have imagined. She kicked Galdor and as she rode off towards the gate out of the barracks, she prayed for victory against her unknown enemy.

Élraina LÓminís stood amongst the rank of the elven soldiers, she had spent her life training to be a soldier yet it was only recently that her life had finally given her the answers to unspoken questions that had kept the young elf maiden from settling anywhere. Now she had come home to the valley he father had been born and breed in and were her mother had called home for the latter part of her life. She glanced left and right at those around her, each soldier looked solemnly on digestion the words of the fair rulers carefully and plotting their own place in the events that were ahead of them.
She watch enviously as Beren was picked out of the line just in front of her… He stepped forward and saluted in the traditional way. His eyes almost glazed over with nerves when Aerianeth spoke to him directly but with out hesitation he answer the question she had posed him and then turned and repeated it to the rest of them. She hardly knew him, only from his name on the roster and from the odd time she had passed him in the barracks.
“I accept” rang out as if spoken with one voice, there was little doubt in her heart that she would have followed the fair lady Aerianeth and the lordly Telarath to the ends of the earth if they had asked. The memories of her fathers deeds in the name of Elrond fresh in her mind as she stood proudly along side her comrades as they watched Aeri mount her steed and disappear up the trail with slight sadness. The butterflies that twisted and turned in her stomach were nothing compared to the way her heart was beating… It was pounding so hard in her chest that she thought it might burst out from her chest unless she calmed her self down… Taking a few deep breaths she remembered the teaching of her mother about the mental preparation for battle. Feeling the power within and focusing on the strength and knowledge given in training.

A day later... The fresh early morning scent wafted in the air, as Aerianeth rode in on Galdor, his hooves stirring the dust. She smiled as she watched soldiers train, fight until one had fallen. She noticed one elf, who stood out from the rest. She fought with courage, strength and determination. Much like herself, Aeri thought. She kicked Galdor, who swiftly cantered over to a small post, where Aeri dismounted. She tied his reins to the post, before quietly watching the young elf. She moved with ease, quickly defeating her opponent. The other elf, was taller and more muscular, yet had been beaten by a she-elf. Aeri was suddenly impressed. As the she-elf helped the defeated from the dust, Aeri walked over, lightly clapping. Her riding gloves hitting together, created a muffled noise in the air. "Well done." She said, loudly. Whenever in the presence of soldiers, she must be strong, powerful, in control. Never let sensitivity and compassion get in the way. One reason why female soldiers are few. Too many emotions. Aerianeth had always resented the people who would say that. They learnt the error of their ways soon after. As the she-elf took notice to her leader, a quick salute in greeting. "Tell me, what is your name, young elf?" Aeri smirked while waiting for the reply.

Tinaldor strode in, a confident air in the way he walked, no emotion showing, except a slight grin. He commanded respect amongst the soldiery here, that he knew. Not as much as the Lady Aerianeth did, but nonetheless they respected him. He made his way to where Aeri was, saluting and talking to a young female conscript. This young one seemed to have an aglie presence, as well as a technical ability. Interesting... He stood behind Aerianeth, watching as she addressed the girl. Aeri would recognize his presence.

Aerianeth smiled. "Good morning, Tinaldor." Hmm, I wonder how alert he is this morning. She pulled out her sword, spun around and swung at Tinaldor.

Tinaldor grinned as he blocked her attack, their blades locked together. "I know you too well friend."
