She chuckled. "I was hoping you'd react, I wouldn't want to wound you before battle." She winked cheekily before sliding her sword back into her belt.

Élraina helped Hadril from were he laid on the floor having fallen to her; she grinned and helped brush the dust from his arm. She was about to offer he a rematch as she heard a gentle round of applause to the side of them, turning in her heels quickly she found her self face to face with Aerianeth, the lady of the valley her self. Only the day before she has looked on in awe, as Beren had been picked from the, to answer her question of loyalty and readiness. Now she found her self in a similar position but with out the massed ordinance. She pulled her self up straight and saluted with her fist over her heart as was traditional and she was about to answer Aeri’s question when a movement from behind her had the young soldier grabbing for her weapon. In an instant the Elven leader had turned on her heels and drawn her sword of the intruder. Élraina stood watching the pair exchange banter as if they were old friends, even as they parried. She watched them carefully hoping one day she could move as fluidly with a sword as Aeri did... she stayed alert even after Tinaldor sheathed his sword again

Tinaldor looked again to the female elf warrior Aerianeth had pulled out. She needed some confidence this one... and perhaps a higher rank. He turned to Aeri, and pointed to the soldier. "May I?"

"Yes, another lost arm would be rather annoying I'm sure." She chuckled, then answered her friend's question. "Of course," she smiled.

Tinaldor stepped to the side, then motioned to the soldier. "Step forward, and give me your name and rank."

Élraina looked up as the dark lord spoke to her, at first she could feel her heart racing, beating hard against her chest but she swallowed hard against the nerves and stepped forward bringing her fisted hand up hard against her chest in the formal salute... “Élraina LÓminís but I hold no rank other than soldier” her voice sounded out calm and confident, if there was something she was good at it was masking her true emotions if she had to. Her mother would have been proud of her for that if nothing else. The young she-elf stood at attention, her eyes never faltering, as she waiting for Tinaldor’s reaction

"Hmm perhaps that should change, soldier Elraina Lominis." Tinaldor unsheathed his sword, and held it behind his back, clasped between his hands. "Come, draw your sword and attack me. Try your hardest to kill me. Do not falter."

Élra drew her sword without hesitation, it was a test of determination and skill she knew that but more over it was a matter of honour. Focusing her mind on the goal, she lunged forward at Tindalor her sword moving in a control swing, slicing though the air in front of her as she closed the gap between them.

She closed the gap a lot faster then he expected. Nevertheless, he side stepped her with ease, and nicked one small hair from her head with the tip of his blade, not cutting the skin, as her lunge drove past him. He smiled, and gave her the hair. "I know you can do better... now I want you to focus on the most painful or hurtful thing that has been done to you or yours. Use that pain, frustration, concentrate, focus it into a rage, and attack me again. Your sword is merely part of your arm, and extension of it, let it become part of your rage, and flow this time."

Élra cursed under her breath as Tinaldor pivoted out of the way of her blow with ease. Anger burned in her bright eyes as she spun around to face him again, his words stinging lie salt in open wounds. “Auta miqula orqu (go kiss an orc)” she muttered as she focused on his dark form. Her brow furrowed with concentration as she drew on the memories of her fathers death. As imagines flickered thought her mind like a never ending picture show she moved forward. Light on her feet yet with a power drawn from deep in side she swung her sword towards the dark lord again as a feral growl escaped from between her soft lips.

Tinaldor grinned deeply. Now this was more of a challenge... He parried her stroke with a backhanded one of his own, feeling the fierceness in her attack, and thrusting his blade at her chest, knowing she would parry it. He shouted to her in mid fight. "Stay on your feet, and always keep moving! Dont let me get a clear sight of your flesh!"

She drew her sword down sharply to block his thrust, with a clash and spark the blades hit metal again metal. The young elf maiden thrust her sword towards Tinaldors midriff in an upwards movement that left her little choice but to move closer to him as the perpetual motion of the blow carried her body forward. Her body pulsed with the anger that now flowed though her. Nothing else around her mattered, all she could see was him and her desire to make him pay for all the injustice in her life.

Tinaldor decided to take her up another notch. She was good enough to take it. He channeled her sword past and over his right shoulder with his own blade, and using his left foot to deftly step to the right, he thrust his sword at her ribs from the side, also using his right leg to try to kick hers from underneath her.

Élra made the mistake of concentrating on his blade and moving away from the blow he aimed at her ribs. It was not until the dull pain emanated from her shin that she even considered his secondary attack, luckily of the young warrior she was light enough on her feet to move with this lower blow, stumbling rather than falling as she struggled to keep herself upright. With bitter determination she swung her blade wildly towards his as her body lurched away. Finally finding her footing again as she spun around and landed a steadying foot out behind her. “That was lucky it will not happen again” she growled as she prepared herself again.
