Lady Eldarieth held a small Gondorian hunting bow. She held it up in position and took careful aim. Despite this, her arrow flew up and at least a handslength away from the targets centre. She sighed deeply. She just could not concentrate. She was worried about the war. No word from Azrael had come and she had some hard decisions to make. Send more soldiers to him or barricade Minas Tirith? Or should she go herself?

A soldier arrives, and bows to Eldarieth. He rises, and hands her a letter which reads:
"My lady. The demon army has been defeated, and the city of Minas Tirith saved, but at a terrible cost. Our numbers are less than an eighth of what they started as, and Lords Jaden and Cypher have fallen in battle. Lord Azrael has riden to Mordor to seek a council with Tinaldor.
Captain Kendrik of Gondor."

Eldarieth is silent for many long moments. When she remembers the soldier is still there she bows her head to him.
"I thank you for taking the perilous journey back here. Please rest awhile, i believe the men of the guard shall be taking their mid-day meal anytime now. Please inform your Lord not to worry and that all is well here and that we are holding up well."
"Now, I must go give news of this to the families of Lord Jaden and Cypher" Eldarieth said in a very soft voice.

Eldarieth put her head in her hands. An eighth of their forces! How could it happen. She needed more information. She beckoned an attendant over and said softly, "Prepare my horse for a journey and speak of this to no-one. If anyone asks, im am riding out for herbs for the healing houses. I will be at the stables in an hour, but first i must talk to the families of the fallen."
And with that Eldarieth swept off. There was so much to do, before she left. Left east. Towards Mordor. Not inside of course, but the setting of the battle. There would be those injured, she could say she was there to help..
