As if the fates were answering Azrael's hopes, an arrow whistled out of nowhere and struck the demon lord in the side, followed by a second. A short distance away, Austin strode through the melee, single mindedly, his bow drawn, so focused was he that he was almost oblivious to everything but his Brother's attacker. Closer now, he knocked another arrow and sent it at the demon lord, before drawing his swords. "Do i have your attention?" The Dark Elf inquired, spinning his swords into a ready stance, anticipating the first move of the demon

It took some time for Azrael to realise what had just happened, but when he decided he wasn't quite dead yet, he got back to his feet.
"Brother! Where have you been? How did you get through the blockade?"
Azrael turned to the demon again.
"Perhaps we should save this discussion for later."
They were still heavily outnumbered, and fighting some invincible demon thing...
A single rain drop fell on Azrael's hand... Followed by a heavy downpour. Azrael didn't pay the rain a second thought... Until he saw its' effect.
The demon lord started screaming in pain when the rain touch him. He vanished completely. All that could be heard was a voice in Azrael's and Austin's head saying:
"You haven't seen the last of me, my lords!"
The rest of the demon army, not being able to just vanish, started fleeing for some kind of shelter. None being present in such an environment, they all fled away from Minas Tirith.
Few demons found shelter, like a convenient rock, cave, or tree, but as so few of them were not being harmed by the rain, they were picked off by Azrael's remaining men.
Azrael stared at the battlefield blankly.
Water harms demons? I would have never thought of that!
Azrael looked around. There was a pitiful amount of survivors left. The rain had timed itself very thinly.
Still no sign of Jaden... Azrael thought to himself.
Azrael spoke to Austin.
"Thank you for coming, brother. How did you get this far unstopped? The siege they were blockading us with was as thick as mud."

Austin watched the effects of water on the demons; not something he'd expected to happen but perhaps it was logical. he snapped back to reality when he realised his brother was talking to him "no probs" he smiled "when i dont want people to see me, they very rarely can, nomatter what species they are" he explained

Azrael smiled.
"For a moment I thought you weren't coming! I can't figure out what happened to Tinaldor's men though... Perhaps they've been caught up in battle else where..."

"that wouldn't surprise me" he resheathed his swords and took in the battlefield "A contingent of Nan Elmoth's troops will arrive within the next thirty minutes or so" he said, pointing out a plume of dust in the near distance "I thought some reinforcements might come in handy"

Azrael sighed.
"Whatever happens now, Gondor will no longer be of any use to the alliance in this war. We have only enough people left to form some sort of city guard. I can't afford to lead them out again. I will do whatever I can to help though. I don't have to stay in the city all the time."
One of Azrael's captains came up to Azrael.
"My lord, can I speak to you alone?" He asked.
"Of course," Azrael replied, but first he turned to Austin again.
"Feel free to do what you will."
Azrael walked off with his captain.
"What's the news?" Azrael asked, dreading the answer.
"Well, we obviously haven't counted the dead yet, but it is certain that we are less than an 8th of our starting strength. We don't even have enough men to manage our own streets."
Azrael sighed sadly.
"We're going to have to drop out of the war... I'll visit Tinaldor by horse and report to him soon. Tell me, does anyone have any idea where his reinforcements actually ended up?" Azrael asked.
"The scouts report that they were delayed by a demon ambush. They suspected that we'd have reinforcements, see... Tinaldor's army managed to defeat the ambushers before the rain came, and are plenty in number."
"Well, at least someone here has a fighting force," Azrael replied.
"Is that all captain?"
The captain looked down nervously, and then replied.
"Er... No, my lord. Lord Jaden and Cypher have fallen in battle. Our medics tried to save Jaden, but he was beyond help. Cypher was slain instantly."
Azrael tunred, shocked by what the captain said.
"Jaden... Cypher... Dead? How?" He asked, wishing this was just a bad dream.
"Well, the winged demons became too much of a problem for our archers. We eventually took them all down, but there were a few winged demons who landed on our walls first. Jaden alone fought these demons to keep our archers safe, but he was overwhelmed and struck down. By the time we cleared out all the winged demons it was too late."
"And Cypher?" Azrael asked... Not sure if he even wanted to know the answer.
"Cypher ran after some demons who had got into the city after our planned counter attack. He took a handful of men with him and defeated those who had got by, but of the survivors, Cypher was not among them."
Azrael and the captain kept walking. Azrael stared at the floor, and remained silent. Thoughts of the battle were catching up to him, and his adrenaline eventually dropped back to normal levels. He was fighting a huge urge to throw himself to the floor and weep, but he knew this wasn't the place or time.
"Thank you captain. Take charge here, I will return shortly. I must see Tinaldor. If Austin asks, tell him where I went, but otherwise make his stay comfortable."
Azrael left, and grabbed his horse. He galloped off towards Mordor. The rain still coming down heavily on his armour.
Away from the city, before Azrael approached Mordor, Azrael stopped his horse by a rock, and got down on his knees, wept, and screamed for his fallen friends.

The Lady Eldarieth had rode hard for days so she could reach her brother in time. She stopped by the camp and stopped. Azrael's flag was not there. Did that mean? No, surely not. Eldarieth got of her horse and tethered it quickly then walked in search of Azrael or one of his captains.

Shagrin's army had been in the thick of it. Having cut of the attempted ambush, which had caught him unawares, he was able to counter it, and the armoured trolls and Dark elven beast slayers had been effective in driving them back. Despite this, they were losing orcs fast, and were slowly being driven back. Their weight of numbers had been effective in the charge, but not now... However he was still standing, and he would carry on fighting. Suddenly, rain poured from the sky, and the demon he had been about to shred hissed in pain, and started flee for cover. All the other demons soon followed suit, and signalling to his archers, he sent volley after volley to take down any strayers. Not wishing to lose any men in the chase, he ordered his captains to reform the army, and jumping onto a Warg, he went as fast as he could into the city, looking for the Lord, if he had indeed survived the demons onslaught.

The Gondor captain rushed to lady Ar-londiel as soon as he saw her...
"My lady...?" The captain asked, not knowing what to say.

Eldarieth bowed her head to the captain that approached her.
"Pray tell me if there is anything here that i can do. The wounded and injured, i can heal. And where is the Lord Azrael?"

The captain was taken aback.
"Did you receive the message that was sent to you, my lady? Azrael has ridden to Mordor to consult Lord Tinaldor... He seemed in a hurry to get away from here."

Shagrin recognised the Lady of Gondor. In the days of war, she would have been a good spoil... but such times thoughts of allies like that would be not helpful. Bowing sardonically to the Lady, he raised his head to address her. "Lady, is there any way in what my army can help? If not, my boys and I will be back to the Dark Land. But if we can help, then use us"

Eldarieth held her head high and nodded to Shagrin then turned back to the captain.
"I was told that a great many had been wounded, and i wished to bring healing to them. And also, I worry for my brother.." "And there is little you can do to help me" she said softly. "Unless you can save all those poor souls lost here... then there is nothing."

Shagrin nodded. "Then I shall march my boys back to Mordor. May the hammer of Morgoth strike down your enemies lady!" He turned, and jumping back on his warg, rode off to the Mordor encampment and ordered the march back to the Black Land.
