Azrael was still looking for his sister and Elraina to warn them of current events, but he wouldn't get the chance. He was confronted by one of Gondor's guards.
"Sire... I have messages from Rohan, the Gates of Gondor, and our scouts," The messenger said.
Azrael nodded.
"Our scouts have reported that the Demon army is close to us, and by now they should be in spotting distance of our city. The gate of Gondor reports that it has fallen to the march of the demon army, and we are receiving them and their wounded at this moment."
Damn, Azrael thought to himself.
They're way too close. I thought we had more time than this...
"And from Rohan," Azrael asked.
"Rohan report that they have no army to aid us with, and they send their apologies."
Damn it!
"Thank you," Azrael thanked the messenger.
After dismissing him, Azrael went back to the walls to find Cypher, but on his way he saw the demon army...
Is an army that big really nessecary?
Suddenly Cypher ran up to him.
"My lord?"
Azrael turned to him.
"Follow the plan... Evacuate all the citizens immidiately, we haven't much time."

A lowly orc captain arrived before the Human King of Gondor, and bowing his head, although not wanting to give respect to any such king despite orders, he grinned. "I have come on behalf of Lieutenant Shagrin, who aked me to tell you of a little suprise we got for the enemy. We dug us a trench to the north of the city, andarc of about ... a mile of sharpened wooden stakes, which'll be hidden to any eyes, until the demons are skewered upon them! We hope that it pleases you Lord, as it should slow them down for you nicely...."
Meanwhile What would we give for the Nazgul now... Were the thoughts going through the Leiutenants mind at the time. His army was ready, fully hidden from the city by a rise in the ground, He had listeners posted to keep ear for the signal for Gondor. He did not like waiting either, he paced impatitently. Punching an orc that smirked at him, he made his way to his warg, and patting its matted fur, he grinned. It had been a while since these armies had experienced such a fight, he would most likely lose a lot of troops. The trolls should do fine, it was the lowly cannon fodder that bothered him, like the one that smirked at him. Ah well, he still had the Morgul Orcs and Dark Elven spearmen and Archers to utlise.

"Very good captain. Please send you lord my compliments."
Azrael turned back to survey the army. Soon he would go before the front gates with the army of Gondor to confront them.
I hope Cypher is ready...

The captain appeared before Shagrin grinning. "The Gondorian liked it very much...." Shagrin let a grin of his own rise to his lips. He would need to follow Azrael's strategy to the book now. He had sent a scout out to make sure his army could not be seen from the city, and it could not, but he still made them retreat slightly further to make sure of this. He just hoped the Gondorian troops were up to such an occasion. Humans usually had a way of suprising on such occasions.

Cypher had evacuated all the citizens to the top of the city, and was now standing on the walls with the archers and trebuchets at his command. Azrael was before the gate with the Gondor army with him.
Where's Jaden? Azrael thought to himself.
Cypher watched the flying demons come closer.
They're are flying ahead of their army... Excellent!

Gandalf, his yellow eyes sparkling in the dark, lifted his demon sword with both hands above his head, the tip of the sword gleamed in the dark and the crystal in its pommel turned a deep red. A crimson ball of energy, three feet in diameter levitated at the tip of the sword, and as the wizard shifted and turned full circle, the ball released itself from the force that held it on the blade and hurled itself at a flying demon in the distance. As the ball made contact, a bright light shone and a shockwave knocked some nearby flying demons to the ground, unconcious. Gandalf smiled malevolently at his sword, as he prepared for another strike.

Azrael stood before the gates of Gondor with a handful of it's defenders.
This is going to hurt a little, Azrael thought to hmself as he heard the army approach. Above, he could here Jaden and his archers shooting down the demons, and the trebuchets unlodaing their payload onto the demons.
"Our time will come soon! Prepare yourselves!" Azrael shouted to his men.

Gandalf grasped the handle of the sword with hands, held it above his head and slammed it full force into the ground, "RRRRRRAAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!!! DIE!!!" He cried, as the sword sent a wave of life-force energy at the oncoming wall of demons. As the wave of energy hit them, a gaping hole was left in their ranks, which quickly filled with more of the seemingly endless number of fell beings.

Azrael was impressed by the move made by Gandalf. Azrael yelled up to him.
"Well done! I don't think we've been formally introduced... Allow me to buy you a drink after the battle!"
Just as Azrael finished the sentence, the doors in front of him began to shake and rattle. The demons were about to break through. Azrael drew his swords.
"Ok brothers! Lets give them a slight thrashing!"
Before their very eyes, the door in front of the army of Gondor was shattered to pieces. The demons were apon the few men before they could even say: "Oh dear, we're all going to die!"
Azrael didn't waste any time before attacking the first demon to come into reach...

"Die!" cried the wizard as he lifted his sword with both hands above his head, and slamme the blade into the ground, sending a wave of energy at the demons, incinerating many of them that had already come through the gate, leaving nothing but ashes. Just then the wizard paused, as the sword pulsed. The wizards mouth widened in a wicked grin, and his teeth were almost as pointed as fangs. His eyes turned white, and he ran to what remained of the gate, which was now swarming with demons. Once more the wizard lifted his sword into the air, but this time he cackled as he plunged it into the ground, sending a shockwave of demonic energy(the sword was forged using demon blood after all) in a large diameter around the wizard, destroying mulriple demons. However, despite the wizards efforts, the demons massive numbers were overwhelming, and the few he destroyed were soon replaced by more.

Azrael had cut down four demons who absorbed a lot of damage first, but upon looking around he realised that they were suffering casualties too fast. With clear ground around him, he raised one sword into the air and shouted:
"Fight for your freedom! Fight for your families!" To try and regain their confidence.
It seemed to have the desired affect, as the demon army's charge had blunted. Now was the time to act.
"Fall back now!" Azrael ordered, and fought off one or two demons, whilst his men started retreating up the hill.
So far, so good... How's Jaden?

Shagrin listened on intently as he could hear the battle screams resonate from the city. Everything in him wanted to fight, but he had been trained to obey, and he would. His troops were uneasy, eager for battle. But still they kept quiet and hidden. He hoped the horn would blow soon. Then he would make his mark on the battlefield, and perhaps win himself a promotion. A lowly captain waddled up to him, with a stupid grin on his face. What did this scumbag want? "Cant we just attack Sir? We've got a larger force then them 'umans.... we should be in there!" Shagrin turned around grabbed him by the throat, and drawing his curved blade, sliced through the Orc's throat. Throwing the body to his warg he turned to the troops. "Anyone else want to disobey my orders?" Silence ruled over the orcs. He smirked to himself. Turning around he whispered to himself. "I thought not..."

Azrael was running up the slopes of Gondor behind the rest of his men...
Still no signal from Jaden... I hope he's ok...
Azrael and his men eventually reached the top, and ordered his men to seal the gates.
Azrael mounted his horse.
"All horseback units with me... Get the wounded inside!" Azrael got ready for the second gate to be attacked before he gave the signal for the blaze.
What happened to Gandalf?

The attackers had began to breach the gate very suddenly.
Damn it, this is not going as well as it could have...
Azrael was not sure about Jaden's safety, and it was clouding his mind.
Where are you Austin and Tinaldor? I could really use your help!
Azrael got on his sword and rose his sword in the air.
"It's now or never my brothers! Charge!"
The gates opened, and Azrael led his cavalry all the way back down the slope. The heat from the previous blaze attack was almost unbearable.
I sure hope the city isn't perminantly damaged before the men can put out the fire...
The demons weren't as dumb as before... They were expecting a counter attack, and once the blaze attack had started, they had turned back and fled the city. Azrael's cavalry hardly had any effect on the demon army what so ever.
Once Azrael and his mean reach outside the city walls, they were pretty much surrounded.
"Damn it!" Azrael shouted. The archers were still firing arrows from the wall... They still had advantage of higher ground.
Azrael and his cavalry charged into the demons, but before Azrael's spear made contact with anyone, his horse took an arrow, and he was flung to the floor.
Argh... Azrael thought, as he made sure his leg was still in one piece.
Azrael's leg was fine... No need to use his ring...
He rose again, and drew his two swords. Realising he was far behind his cavalry, and wasn't near the front line, Azrael felt he better start moving quickly. He ran towards the melee, attaching his swords by the hilt.

Azrael soon found himself and his men in deep melee with the demons, but their numbers were far too great. Tinaldors army was probably fighting the demon army somewhere, but Azrael had no idea where they actually were...
Azrael was slowly growing very tired of fighting. He was moving around too much, and exhaustion was soon overcoming him.
Azrael came to realise that all hope in a victory was gone. The army of Gondor was less than half the size they were before the battle, and soon they would be overrun. The people of Minas Tirith had no where to escape. They were still at the top of the city.
Azrael had to keep fighting. There was no where to retreat, and he couldn't bare the thought of the people of Gondor being slaughtered.
A demon ran up to Azrael and tried to bring his sword down on him, but Azrael cut straight through his sword arm. Azrael side kicked the Demon, who staggered back and tripped over a rock.
"You know, you demons aren't that tough. Sure, you don't seem to know when to die, but you're completely useless with the sword!"
Azrael buried his sword in the demon to finish him. He turned to find another, and his eyes rested on a particular demon who was almost twice the size as the rest. In his left hand he had a 10ft daggertail, and in the other he had the biggest sword Azrael had ever seen. Azrael watched, as the demon attacked two warriors with the daggertail, ripping them both in half with ease. Azrael found the sight very disturbing.
I stand corrected... Azrael thought.
Azrael charged at the demon, but the demon seemed to sense him coming, and span around attacking with his sword. Azrael reacted quickly and blocked the attack, but the demon used enough force to knock Azrael clean off his feet.
Ow... Azrael got back up again, and prepared himself, but the demon began to speak.
"Azrael! I wondered when I'd bump into you!"
Azrael recognised the voice.
"You... Your the demon lord, right?"
The demon chuckled. Azrael just assumed that was a yes. The demon spoke again.
"You have failed, my lord! I came to test my strategical mind against yours, and I have overcome you. I have proved myself."
Azrael rubbed the back of his head.
"Ok, so your reason for attacking Minas Tirith was just to prove to yourself that you could outsmart me!?! Well done, you succeeded. Now what?" Azrael asked.
The demon's smile faded.
"Now, I kill you. And after I kill you, I will test my fighting ability against your commander Tinaldor. He will surely provide a good challenge for me."
Azrael smiled.
"Even if you kill me, you will never defeat Tinaldor."
The demon laughed at this.
"His fire can't harm me. No weapon can!"
Azrael rubbed his chin for a few seconds.
"So what does harm you?" Azrael asked hopefully.
The demon answered by lashing out with his daggertail, which Azrael narrowly avoided.
Not interested in talking then, I see...
Azrael tried to get close to the demon, but the demon's daggertail kept him at a distance. There was a couple of times that the daggertale narrowly avoided his head. Azrael was beginning to lose confidence.
The demon lashed at Azrael again, and his daggertail wrapped itself around Azrael's sword.
Blast! Azrael thought to himself.
He dettached his blade, and flung the free on right into the chest of the demon. The demon didn't seem to feel the blow, and swung his daggertail away. Azrael couldn't hold on to his sword against such strength, and the demon flung it away with his daggertail. There was no way Azrael would be able to find it now.
Azrael took advantage of the demon's daggertail being aside, and ran at the demon. He pulled his sword out of the demons chest, and swung at the demons neck.
Azrael's sword stopped dead however, and when Azrael looked up he realised he had only pierced skin. His bone didn't even suffer a scratch.
"That's interesting..." Azrael commented. The demon laughed, and then suddenly his flesh fully healed itself, as if nothing had ever happened to him.
That's not fair! Azrael thought to himself.
The demon attacked Azrael with his sword in one hand. Azrael brought his sword against the demons sword with both hands into a deadlock. Even though the demon was only using one hand, he easily overcame Azrael, and flung him backwards. Azrael lost grip of his sword as he fell.
Upon hitting the ground, Azrael went to go for his fallen sword, but the demon forced him away by lashing in front of it with his daggertail. Azrael looked around for another weapon that may be lying on the floor, but in the time he had before he had to dodge the daggertail again, he could only find a spear resting just in front of the demons feet. After ducking the daggertail, Azrael ran for the spear, but as he came close, the demon brushed him aside with his arm. Azrael hit the floor again.
Azrael went to get up, but he saw that the demon was standing over him, ready to finish him off with his sword.
Azrael only had the time to think: I'm going to die...
His only hope was that someone would step in and save him.
