Ara rested her head against Tinaldor's shoulder gently as he hugged her."Tinaldor look at me.please.do not apoligise for your reaction my love.or for your not knowing how to react."she laid her hand to his cheek and then knowing full well how much she had needed it kissed him softly letting him know she was there with him. she looked into his eyes and kissed him again. Tinaldor looked back into her deep eyes and smiled. How he had managed to find such a wonderfull wife, he didnt know. Not saying anything, he just held her and smiled. He didnt want to say or do anything, because she was the one thing that took his troubles away.

Ara laid her hand to Tinaldor's cheek.she thought of her oath to her commander and unconsciously she realized she had been reciting it."I will follow his command untill death take me or lord release me I will serve his purpose in battle and in peace.in dark of night or light of day.I will remain faithful to him through the days of his service and never will I stray from his rule lest his wrath fall upon me."Ara shivered then her eyes widened in shock as she looked at Tinaldor."Tinaldor!that army...they were under my commander."she shivered more and stood up her eyes a cold silver gray as her hands reached the hilt of her sword."He knew.he knew what I could and would do for my children.he saw me with them."she clenched her fist and then her eyes snapping with cold light looked at Tinaldor."you did me a favor when you killed Drallek just now Tinaldor.he was the one who let them in."she drew her sword the ring of the metal echoing in the silent pub."they will fall."she said quietly, her voice cold.

Tinaldor took one of her hands, and quitened her. "No, it was not Drallek. The only thing I saw in that elves eyes was a deep sorrow at letting me down." He paused, thought more about it. "No it could not have been him. There is something else deeper than that.... something I just cant.... grasp." He snapped out of his trance like thought, and looked to Ara. "So I would suggest keeping safe until we know what it is we are dealing with dear."

Ara calmed down a bit when Tinaldor took her hand."I'm sorry."she said softly."I still have dreams of their cries Tinaldor..I watched them being slaughtered.I watched the children I'd borne and carried being killed.the men held me so tight during that time.they-they wouldn't listen to my cries or my plea's.they forced me to watch as my children died under their hands because they.didn't.care."she took a ragged breath and then forcing herself to be calm said quietly:"I should stop doing that right now.it's..just I can't. I keep reliving that night or day.I cannot remember afterwards what else happened.I remember pain and then nothing."

Tinaldors eyes ran aflame again for a moment, as the thought of the filthy humans cut down his children. He had to keep the anger under control until the right moment, othjerwise he would be lost to everything he had now. He kissed her softly, and stood up. "I'm going to pay a visit to khazad-dhum. Go and find Aeri. You will be safer with her." Tinaldor took her in his arms, and kissed her passionately. Turning away, he stormed out, pulled his black hood over his face, and rode north.

*BP Stared after her lost love. Wishing that somehow she could recapture that glorious time when he had been her's. She sighed deeply at the loss of it all. She thought to herself Noone could love me as well as he had and no one ever would. But perhaps he had never loved her.* "Good luck Tinaldor. You're going to need it."

A Week later.. Tinaldor trudged into the pub, and sat down by the bar. More memories rushed back, as he remembered all the times here in years past. This very inn was a place of so many memories for him.especially during his days with BP... and when she left...He crushed the thought in his mind, not wanting to think of those days. That was past now. "Your finest hobbits blood ale, barman."

*PC peered from across the bar at Tinaldor with a sad smile on her face. She would always care for him, always. But love was gone from both their hearts now. She found herself wondering if she had ever loved at all. She thought"Love had always been something almost incomprehensible to PC... maybe she hadn't loved him. She had run off and gone away for the sake of gaining power. It's funny that now she wanted back the one power she had... Tinaldor's love. But that is gone. And Ara has more than replaced her position. She has thwarted her. BP opened her mouth to speak, closed it for a moment and said in a quiet voice that seemed almost to betray the vulnerability she was feeling at this moment.* "Hello there old friend. Would you care to share a story and a drink with someone who was once so close."

Tinaldor smiled at the face that so long ago meant so much to him. "Sounds good to me. We havent spoken much since that time long ago. I'm eager to hear what you have been up to since then."

*BP smiled trying to cover the unrest and discomfort she felt deep within her* "I went on a journey to discover more about myself. I went on a journey, and I found my true potential as well as my limits. But for all I've gained... It doesn't make up for you. It doesn't make up for the feelings you used to stir within me. I missed you when I was away. And now I come back to find that you're over me and all we once shared."

"Perhaps it was a good thing to learn more about yourself. I learnt a lot myself. I missed you as much as you missed me when you went, because to me you were dead. I had to get over you, had to move on with life. And I have a devoted wife and children now..." He smiled lightly, and drank some of his beer. "Though only the other day I was remembering those times when you and I were together all that time ago." He looked into her eyes, as fiey as they always used to be. He raised his glass. "To old memories."

*BP smiled sadly holding back a sob and a tear though she couldn't remove that gaze from her eyes. Tinaldor was still as beautiful as he had always been.* "To old memories and old loves." *She whispered as she clinked glasses with him. She looked in his eyes. The glint was still there. That glint of mischief and that glint of happiness. Ara was the luckiest woman in the world. And the Brat Princess herself was more than unlucky.*

Tinaldor looked back into her eyes, and found himself wishing he could take back those years, and still be with her. He shook his head slighty, again trying to clear his mind of those thoughts. He sipped his drink, and smiled. She was still the fine figure he remembered. "You've changed a lot. "
