Azrael sighed.
"I know. Tis a shame, as Gondor is a glorious city. I was, however, impressed with how organised you keep Mordor. For Orcs they actually seemed intelligent."

"The new training routines, coupled with the introduction of experienced Dark Elven officers and cannon fodder has forced the orcs to almost become more intelligent to compete for favour. Hopefully things are on the up for both of our kingdoms eh?"

"Yes... But remember, war machines aren't what makes a city great."

"Oh I know very much how to rule, Lord Turnbull. The economic and social statures are just as important. As is the numinous. The people need that sense of awe, something that makes them work for a higher aim. Something that encourages them to think."

"And the greatest way to achieve this is through love, trust, and respect, but I'm sure you use your own ways. I'm afraid I have other matters to attend to for now, but I hope our paths cross again in the future."
Azrael bowed low. He turned to his sister.
"We should talk, I think," Azrael said.

Lady Eldarieth looked up at Azrael. So the time has come, she thought. "As do I" she said clearly. "Would you prefer to rest or we could walk along the ramparts from above."

"I think a walk will be nice. I've been on a horse all day, and I need to stretch my legs."
Azrael smiled, and then embraced her.
"Where have you been? I feared the worst!"

Eldarieth smiled properly for the first time all day. "I could say the same to you! I had no word of you for so long!" She walked over and opened a window before moving towards the outer door.

"I have been travelling. Half of the time to search for you..."
Azrael began to follow her out the door.
"Otherwise dressing as a commoner so I can find a place to stay the night. I met Austin at a ball... He's getting married!" Azrael said.

Eldarieth smiled when she heard Azrael's news about Austin. "To Ara, i presume? It's good to have a wedding, I haven't been to one for quite awhile." "But tell me, where did you go in search of me? I had not thought you would follow me. I had hoped to be back before you did, but i got caught in some trouble at the gap of rohan."

Azrael looked shocked when Eldarieth Ar-londiel mentioned Rohan.
You weren't involved in Tinaldor's massacre were you? Azrael thought to himself.
"I went to Rohan first, being another town of men... Then I went to Nan Elmoth, where I found my brother. After that I had returned home wondering if Gondor had received news about your whereabouts... But all I found was an invitation to war." Azrael sighed.

Eldarieth smiled sadly. "Yes, i was in Rohan. But let us not speak of it. The memories still haunt me in the dark."
"And now you will be leaving again! So soon.. I might ride with you...but only as far as the border!" Eldarieth knew Azrael would not want her leaving the city unattended for too long a time.

"I didn't attend to leave again, but I want to lead our men into battle. Their lives are just as important as mine."

Eldarieth shut her eyes, blinking back tears.
"You're right, of course. I knew you would want to lead the men. But still, it is difficult for me, being alone here..shut up in all this stone...I cannot even ride out across the pellenor, without having at least a guard of twelve!"

"Inside, the walls are indeed just made of stone... But on the outside it is beautiful. I'm sure you of all people don't need are guard, and who are they to question you if you order them to let you travel alone?"
Azrael thought for a while.
"Gondors army have been requested to reinforce that of another. We're not going on a campaigne, just joining a battle. We should return very soon."
