Along the walls of Gondor were a few watchmen pacing up and down. This was a usual routine. It was very uncommon for any incidents to be reported... But this was an exception. At the far edge of the plains, well out of the range of any bow, was five demons. They were spotted by the watchmen of Gondor, but the Demons were gone before they could take any action. The guard captain was among the few who saw this.
Scouts... The captain thought to himself.
"Tell Lord Azrael that a group of demon scouts have been spotted in our plains."
The two guardsmen beside him didn't waste any time before leaving for the task.
The captain looked at the plains again.
Never did I imagine the demons coming here... It's way beyond the borders of the other cities... How could they move an army unnoticed all the way out here? Perhaps it's just a ruse...

Azrael came to the walls of Gondor followed by Cypher and addressed the guard captain.
The guard captain told Azrael what they had spotted, and confirmed Azrael's fears.
"But why attack Gondor," he asked to himself.
"And how did such an army get this far into middle earth without being spotted by the other cities?"
Cypher remained silent.
Azrael sighed.
"They've caught us with our socks of Cypher."
"Shall I prepare our defences my lord?" Cypher asked.
"Wait... Light the beacons of Gondor first. Send messages to Tinaldor and Austin calling for aid. There are a lot of people in this city who'll be hurt if their army can breach our walls."
Cypher bowed and left right away. Azrael put his head in his hands.
Arg! How could this happen underneath everyones noses!?!
The guard captain stayed at attention, wondering if he was going to receive any orders.
"Keep up your duties here and report to me if you get any news. I must go to the inn to inform someone about current events." Azrael turned and left.

Arriving at the gates three Mordorian lieutenants, two Dark Elven, and one Orc, and requested to see the Lord Azrael. Let in by the guard, the headed up to the main wall where they had been directed. One of the Lieutenants, the Orc, stepped forward. "Lord of Gondor, I am Lieutenant Shagrin of Mordor, and our scouts have reported a large army of demons are headed towards Minas Tirith. I have brough the rest of Mordor's armies, which lies with short marching distance of this city. Do you wish us to assist you? Our forces number 600,000, as we 110,000 left to guard Mordor."

Azrael felt relieved.
"Thank you. Your help will be very much appreciated." Azrael ordered for a full meal to be prepared for Lieutenant Shagrin.
"When you return to you master, please express my thanks to him. I would do it myself, but I still haven't got round to alerting the rest of the city."

"I shall not be returning to my master, as he is still in the field in Rohan. I have been placed in command until his return and hope to please my Master by making this move. However we shall no doubt meet him on the battlefield. He will no doubt arrive with whatever survived the first battle. For now, this army is hear to serve Gondor, lord Azrael."

"The enemy army haven't been spotted yet, so they are at least a day away from us. I suggest you rest your men and feed them before the battle."
He turned to one of his own men.
"Send for General Jaden immediatetly." The man bowed and went off to look for Jaden.
Azrael then hung his head in thought.
"We need to discuss a strategy," Cypher said.
"Yes... That's why I'm thinking," replied Azrael.

Jaden appeared a few moments later walking up to Azrael and bowing. "My Lord you sent for me?"

Azrael turned to see Jaden.
"Ah yes. We have a little situation. The demon army have somehow infiltrated past the cities of middle earth, and plan to attack Gondor. For what reasons I have no idea. Neither can I come up with a deep strategy that will guarantee us victory because of the situation and our postition. We have to try and hold them out."

"Sire my I be so blunt as to say that no strategy can insure victory." Jaden paused looking at his Kings face hoping not to have displeased him.
"Sire send out the horsemen and archers they will make mincemeat of the demons" Jaden adviced Azrael.

Azrael smiled.
"You'll be surprised how someone can make use of the situation and envirement to ensure complete victory. It has been done before by many great leaders of the past. You need a very great insight though."
Azrael listened to Jaden's strategy.
"Hmm... It would seem logical, but it would mean disaster for us. When we first set out to fight the demons, they were very endurable. We charged with our horses and couldn't push hard enough before being forced back. The winged demons are fast, and they would chase our horses. Our archers will be killed off by the demon army after their arrows have little effect, and we'll be forced to close the doors on our riders otherwise the winged demons will get control of the gates too easily. No... We need to find a way to bring the demons into a slaughterhouse..."
That's it... Azrael slapped his forehead. Why hadn't he thought of that before.
"I think I have a solution..." Azrael said.
All that I have to do is find a suitable way to keep the winged demons from becoming too much of a hastle.

Jaden listened to his King, "What is the plan My Lord?" He asked.

"Before it can work I need a way to prevent the winged demons from doing too much harm."

Jaden thought for a moment, he remembered what he saw in a battle before. "Sire, the winged demons you speak for have fragile wings a punchered wing from a good archer, means that it will have to land or fall. Either way they are easier to kill on the ground"
"Sire send Cypher and the archers out..."
